With a conlang for which an active creator is living and where much of
the *langue* and *parole* is only in the creator's head, or in paper
notebooks, etc. -- probably not much.

But there are a few conlangs where we have *permission* to use the
language though not *a promise of involvement* from the creator.  In
some cases the language is really well documented so we can learn it
without the creator teaching us; in others it's under-documented, but
we have permission to expand it as necessary for our needs.  Those
conlangs include Voksigid, Láadan, Vorlin, and (probably) Kalusa.
