I myself would prefer a September start, but of course will go with the flow. How about creating a top 5 for the beginning of August, then discussing those? 
 
Not keen on a secret ballot, much prefer an open vote. On the voting, I thinks its a good idea to create a top 5, then vote on those for a final outcome. It sounds already that at least 3 are already up there going off previous references. 
 
I think, in the final vote, I'd be nice to see specific reasons as to why someone is nominating a certain conlang?
