Just about the voting system, whatever it will be, I hope that the voting period will be long (even one week). We are scattered all round the globe, some of us may have professional and/or familial obligations and not an Internet access all the time.

Yes, there's going to be a vote, most likely near the beginning of
September.  We haven't yet sorted out the details of how the vote will
be structured -- almost certainly either instant-runoff voting or
range voting, but we don't have a strong consensus yet.

When you have a chance to look at the archives, I suggest you skim
through them, looking especially for the places where people have
commented on the languages we're thinking about learning.  Take a look
at the shortlist to which Padraic posted the URL, and also at its
Talk: page.  It's not too late to nominate more languages.  It would
also be good if you post here your thoughts on some of the languages
that have already been nominated.
